Based in Birmingham’s city centre, the leading charity have been distributing food for the homeless community every night since they started their operation eight years ago.
The organization has gained recognition has gained over the years as they now have partnerships with big food brands like Greggs, Tesco’s and Asda which attracts more people in need to their sessions as there’s more variety of food to choose from.
With more attraction to their sessions, the charity finds themselves in need of more volunteers to help as they are opened 7 nights a week.
Lead volunteers Moe Nawaz stated “volunteers were reluctant to come help coming out of lockdown which led to a significant decrease in our numbers. Only now are we beginning to the number of volunteers go back up.”
Usually, it takes five to seven staff to help out during weekdays, however more help is needed during weekends as it is always a busier session.
The non- profitable organisation prioritise advertising on their social media to gain more volunteers, they get more contact through their Facebook as they get more interactions on there, there are no requirements required making it more accessible for people.
“With the help of good people willing to help we are able to achieve great things by helping
out the less fortunate” said Nawaz.
